Sumiyoshi began to play guitar at the age of fourteen. In 2010, he joined a gospel event held at Osaka Castle. He now plays as sideperson with different artists not only at live shows but recording sessions. His soulful guitar sound strikes a chord with the audience passionately, and warmly at times. The performance varies diversely according to the musicians to play with. He also teaches guitar technique at some places including private schools.
